About Me

I write about identity, social inequalities, human rights and the arts and examine my personal experience as a young woman through the lenses of sociology, political philosophy and feminist theory.
My (dutch) writing has appeared in Vrij Nederland, De Groene Amsterdammer and NRC Handelsblad.
Born and raised in Amsterdam, and brought up in a Dutch/British household, I moved to Montpellier in the south of France to study History of Art. Later, I moved to London, where I obtained a BA in Social Science & Education Studies from UCL and an MSc in Human Rights from the LSE, with a focus on feminist scholarship, decoloniality and theories of justice.
Moving from my progressive bubble to the Mediterranean and then to a metropolis has enabled me to view my surroundings from both insider and outsider perspectives; my writing reflects this duality.
I have a background in feminist advocacy and currently work in the climate & human rights sector.
